Nipping home for the weekend
When you stand on the beach at Scheveningen and look out to sea, somewhere just over the horizon is the North Norfolk coast; last weekend's destination. This was Sophie's first taste of international travel. The journey out took 6 hours (door-to-door) and the journey back a ridiculous 11 hours; next time you hear someone say how easy it is to travel in Europe these days, give them a good slap. It's quicker getting to Oman. A broken pram (thanks baggage guys) and a lost watch (thanks unhelpful infodesk lady .... "It's not my liability") as well as the two-bus journey just to get to Schiphol long-stay car park all added to the drama. We're going back to the UK in 3 weeks ... on the ferry.

Chunky
Sophie is recovering from something called 'stomach flu'. I'm not sure what that is but it makes her very grouchy and she's been feeling pretty low. Anyway she's on the mend now and today was feeling well enough to go shopping, but only after wrapping up in some chunky knitwear (crafted by Grandma Lyons). She's doing her first foreign excursion this week (..we're Norfolk-bound!) so hopefully she'll be better by then.

Hangin' out at the beach
Lottie ... put that rear right leg down properly!
... Boring!
Good exercise for humans. Throw ball from stick device whilst shouting "Fetch!". Then go and get it while Lottie rolls in a dead crab.
The last day on the beach for dogs before the summer ban. It's the boring old park for Lottie for the next 6 months.
At the beachside bar afterwards Sophie slept whilst the adults (and dog) tucked into prawns, tuna and chips.

Polar Baby
Not much happening around these parts. The temperatures in The Hague are unseasonally low, which at least gives Sophie a chance to model the Baby Innuit look. Lottie is making progress but still isn't using her bad leg all the time. She may get physiotherapy (dog physiotherapy .... what will they think of next).
We're all looking forward to summer holidays but they're sooo far away.
