So what happened this week? Not much. Went to Germany for a meeting. Ate lots of bread (... Jo brought a bread machine back from Manchester last week), went swimming, shopping and walking on the beach. I've convinced myself that the Norwegian hills are not possible on my heavy Dutch bike so have bought a new bike (No.4). I think I'm going to need it as Jo will need the car more now that the summer is over and the pushchair has been ditched. Sophie's enjoying the new school term and her new class. We're driving to Bergen on Wednesday for Sophie's operation on Thursday. We told her about the operation today and she seems relatively relaxed about it. Here she is eating spaghetti with Mum's special tomato sauce. She's normally a very tidy eater but this particular meal is normally devoured.

A few hours on Hundvåg island
We found some dark woods with tiny cabins dotted around. I tried to convince Sophie that we were being watched by trolls but she was having none of it.
Scaled up fun!
School starts tomorrow. Next week we will travel to Bergen and Sophie will have an operation to remove the metal plate which was put in her leg last time. Hopefully this will be an end to it.

Come back next week
Jo and Sophie have gone to Manchester for a few days to escape the rain. That phrase is not often heard. The Beast is inconsolable and keeps staring out of the window. As I only have a whining dog as subject matter, in the absence of anything extraordinary happening around here, there will not be any further postings on this blog for the coming week.

We've got the lergy!
Not a very exciting week. I was ill (but momentarily cheered by half a glass of wine and an i-pod for my birthday earlier in the week). Sophie has it now. It hasn't stopped her creative output though. The dioramas are coming thick-and-fast and yesterday, Sophie and Jo made a whole fitted bathroom for Barbie (..complete with toilet (... complete with poo)).
