We got this little surprise today. This little chap was born by C-section just after lunchtime (12.34 to be precise). Jo had started getting contractions yesterday evening so we went to the hospital in the early hours and they decided to bring his arrival date forward a week.
Mum and son are doing well although they're keeping him in the premature baby ward to monitor him because he's a bit early. Who do you think he looks like? He's actually the spitting image of
Sophie when she was born. That's all for now. More photos and news (... and maybe even a name) tomorrow.
Here's a pic of Matthew having a kip on my shoulder at about 9pm last night. Little did we know he'd wake up just afterwards and stay awake for the next 8 hours. At the moment I estimate there's a child awake in this house for 20 of the 24 hours in each day. Below you can see him looking somewhat dazed early this morning ...
On a positive note Sophie doesn't want to jump into bed with us in the middle of the night anymore ("Fuzzy's too loud!" she said the other night whilst leaving our bed and dragging teddy back to her own room).
