Proud to be part of the Big Sisterhood

Fuzzy is now out of the premature baby ward and with his mum. He sleeps a lot but when he's awake he likes to look around and take in his surroundings. Compared with his sister (who has always been a little whirlwind) he's a quiet, contemplative little chap. I must stop calling him Fuzzy (... Sophie reveals his true name in the entry below this one).

Sophie met her little brother for the first time tonight. She's a very proud girl and hides her disappointment in the fact we didn't call him Buster very well.

Here's Fuzzy!

We got this little surprise today. This little chap was born by C-section just after lunchtime (12.34 to be precise). Jo had started getting contractions yesterday evening so we went to the hospital in the early hours and they decided to bring his arrival date forward a week.

Mum and son are doing well although they're keeping him in the premature baby ward to monitor him because he's a bit early. Who do you think he looks like? He's actually the spitting image of Sophie when she was born. That's all for now. More photos and news (... and maybe even a name) tomorrow.

Being good

After the successful completion of her reward chart, Sophie became the proud owner of a pair of Lelly Kelly shoes. These came complete with free make-up kit. She likes to liberally apply the make-up to herself.

Fun fair

The fair came to Stavanger a couple of weeks ago.

Higher!

Climbing

Sophie has become a fairly keen climber. She has developed a strong desire to ascend any obstacle she comes across. We went into the woods yesterday and I turned my head for a few moments (to locate The Beast) and when I came back she was making her way up a tree. Here she is in a local park. She's certainly as accomplished at climbing as other kids her age which is pretty remarkable given her history. She full of energy at the moment and has been running rings around us. However, today I took her to Vaulen Beach and, after a lot of walking and climbing, managed to tire her out. That's a score of about Sophie-10 Dad-1 for the Easter break.

Easter

Sophie has enjoyed the Easter break. We've done lots of stuff around Stavanger but I think she's ready to go back to school tomorrow
