Sunny Walks

We have been having some lovely walks in the woods lately with the recent good weather.  Matthew likes to hold Beastie on the lead.  He loves being outdoors.

One!

Matthew enjoyed his first birthday today.  The day started at 6am with a bit of present opening.  Needless to say he did very well as you can see from the pictures.  He's still not entirely got the idea of unwrapping presents but you can see an eager helper in the background on one of these pictures.

Thanks to Grandma for the bowl and plate set and to Nana for the helicopter.  Yesterday he had a birthday party.  We'll share some of the pictures from that later once we've worked out how to get the pictures from the camera, which his butter-fingered father dropped on the floor.

The wedding celebration

Last Friday two people in the UK got married.  Sophie's school celebrated the event with a parade and they all got to watch it on TV.

Even Matthew took time out of his busy schedule to toast the newlyweds.  The Norwegian News Channel came to the school to film.  If you want to watch the video click here.  Look out for Sophie at 2:04!

Sophie's holiday

We stayed in a nice house on the beach in a place called Beadnell.   Sophie spent many hours on the beach with her friend Dan. 

One day we walked from Seahouses to Bamburgh to visit the castle.  It's a walk of at least 4km along the beach and we  scoured the rock pools (lots of starfish) and looked for fossils (Sophie found crinoids) and shells along the way.  She did really well with the walk which was the longest walk she's ever done.  She managed to get all the way to Bamburgh ....
