The surgeon did the investigation of Sophie's hip yesterday and the result was surprisingly positive! She'll need more treatment but not surgery. Hip hip hooray!
On Thursday we are going to get fitted with a special brace similar to this:
It's a much gentler treatment that will allow her to walk, sit, do "I'm a Little Teapot", travel, etc. It will take about six months to work.

Wow, good news indeed. I am glad she is going to be spared another evil cast. The braces don't look too bad and the boy on the picture is having a big smile, so hope it's all relatively easy.
So you might be going to Norway? That sounds like a nice and civilised posting. Hope it will all work out. Somehow it felt really funny to read you are going to be leaving The Hague. Then we will "all" be gone, a bit sad..
