Daisy Nook
Sophie just got back from a break in Manchester where she had a lovely time seeing lots of relatives. Here are she is visiting Daisy Nook with her Grandad and cousins, Michael, Ashley and Luke. Here's a video of the lads braving the famous wall of death ...

Cake?
Sophie and Jo have been in Manchester for the past few days. They come back on Sunday and it'll be nice to see them both. Beastus is back home after a few days in the kennel (... I've been working long hours) so at least I'll have someone to watch TV with tonight. Here's Sophie last weekend looking very pleased with her play-dough cakes.

Brace Yourself
Here is Sophie modelling her brace that matches her shoes. She has to wear it as much of the time as possible, but at least 22 hours a day. We can take it off for her daily bath and for swimming at the weekend.
So far so good. She has accepted it really well and has done a bit of sitting at the table, walking, climbing on sofas to reach scissors on the mantlepiece , etc. We also enjoyed taking the Beast to the woods in the new bike and let her out for a good run alongside .

Logistics
Just coming to the end of two consecutive Bank Holiday weekends here (Pinksterdag, Queen's B'day and Ascension Day all coming in close succession). Couldn't have wished for better weather. We're now thinking about the move to Norway this summer and are toying with such mundane problems as whther to sell the car or import it and how to get the Beast there.

The velocipede
We're keeping cool in the current hot spell by riding around on our new bike. Actually our bike is currently being made and the one in the pic is a rental one. It looks daft and I'm sure if we tried using it in England small children would throw stones at us. Nevertheless these contraptions are quite common in these parts and Sophie enjoys riding in it. When she's in the brace, riding in the older bike seat won't be possible. We're getting some special ski attachments for the wheels for when we move to Norway.
