A walk around Melsvatnet

Last Sunday we had a lovely walk around Mosvatnet, a lake near Stavanger. Afterwards there was a barbecue and paddling in the lake. Can you spot Simon and Sophie in the last picture?

Correen and the Rich Lady

Correen has been helping to entertain Sophie for some afternoons over the past few months. We are very grateful for it! Sophie is dressed up as a rich lady and has a bag full of money.

Grandma and Grandad Tony's Visit

A few days later Grandma and Grandad Tony came to visit. We went on a fjord cruise to see Priekestoelen, known as the pulpit tock. It was a bit rainy but Sophie had a nice fairy cake. The highlight was having a drink of water from a waterfall. We also had a nice day out in the Troll woods. Matthew slept throughout.

Nana and Grandad's visit

Nana and Grandad came to visit for the first week of the holidays. Among other things we went to Vaulen beach, Soma Gard farm and Stavanger town centre. Nana got a fancy new hairdo featuring a fountain. OK, I was sleep deprived when I took the photo.

School's out for summer

Sophie broke up for the looooong summer holidays a month ago, which partly explains why we have had very little blogging time. Here's a picture of her with her two beloved teachers, Miss Anna (left) and Miss Anitha, proudly holding her year completion certificate. We are very grateful to her teachers for giving Sophie such an excellent year. She will miss them both.
At the end of term the class put on a very cute concert. Sophie was a green bottle.

Matthew, not Fuzzy

There hasn't been much spare time around here of late. Sophie is off school, Matthew is in his "put me down and you'll pay for it" stage, we've had visits from Grandad, Nana, Grandma and Grandpa Tony and we've had to watch the World Cup. All is well. Matthew is growing well (... he's already grown from a Fuzzy to a Matthew). He's quite a serious little fella whose face rarely breaks into a smile. This, of course, makes it all that more special when he does actually smile (something he usually saves for his sister or the bookshelf). Anyway, we'll post some more pics when we have a spare moment.
